FAQ
Questions, answered honestly
If something here is unclear or missing, reach out - we'd rather set expectations correctly than oversell.
Do I need to install a desktop app?
No. Nivodisk uses WebDAV, which macOS, Windows, and Linux support natively. You connect from the file manager you already use. See Compatibility for per-OS steps.
Can I use my drive offline?
Not really. Your files live on our servers and are reached over the internet. When you're offline, mounted files are unavailable unless your OS cached them. This is not a local-sync product.
Is the drive password the same as my login?
No - and that's deliberate. Mounting uses a dedicated drive credential you generate in your dashboard. You can rotate or revoke it without changing your account password.
What happens if I hit my storage quota?
Writes that would exceed your plan's quota are rejected by the server with a clear 'insufficient storage' response. Your usage meter in the dashboard shows exactly where you stand.
Which currencies do you support?
Pricing is shown in your local currency where supported (currently INR and CAD), with USD as a fallback. See the pricing page and pick your region.
How is my data isolated from other users?
Every account has its own server-side storage root, and path handling rejects traversal, so no account can address another's files. Read more on our security page.
Can I cancel anytime?
Yes. You can cancel from your billing settings; access continues until the end of your current period, after which your plan lapses.
